Plot summary
Beth is an art curator at the Guggenheim in New York, and she has stopped expecting to fall in love. She flies to Rome as maid of honor for her younger sister Joan's impulsive wedding and meets the best man, Nick, and the two get along. After Beth sees Nick kissing another woman, she gets slightly drunk, wades into the fountain of love and picks up coins other people threw there. Joan tells her the legend: whoever takes a coin from the fountain wins the love of the person who threw it. Back in New York, a sausage magnate named Al, a street magician named Lance, a painter named Antonio and a male model named Gale all court her, and Beth searches for a way to break the spell.

When Beth hands back the coins to Antonio, Lance, Gale and Al, it is a parody of The Wizard of Oz, and her line telling Gale she will miss him least of all reverses what Dorothy Gale says to the Scarecrow when she says goodbye to him.- The plot of the film is the reverse of the 1954 film Three Coins in the Fountain, which is about women in Rome who throw coins in a fountain and find love.
- Filming took place in Trafford, Pennsylvania, and to promote the film Don Johnson and Jon Heder co-hosted WWE's Monday Night RAW on January 18, 2010.
