Biography
Owen Wilson is an American actor and screenwriter who met Wes Anderson while both were students at the University of Texas at Austin. Born in Dallas, he co-wrote and acted in Bottle Rocket (1996) and shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for The Royal Tenenbaums (2001). He gained wider recognition through comedies with the Frat Pack, including Wedding Crashers (2005), You, Me and Dupree (2006), Starsky & Hutch (2004), and Zoolander (2001), as well as Meet the Parents (2000) and The Internship (2013). He also worked with Jackie Chan on the Shanghai films, appeared in the Night at the Museum series, and voiced Lightning McQueen in the Cars movies. Other credits include the action movies Anaconda (1997) and Armageddon (1998), Midnight in Paris (2011), which brought a Golden Globe nomination, The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The French Dispatch (2021), and the Marvel series Loki.
