Plot summary
Gomez and Morticia Addams welcome a baby boy, Pubert. His older siblings, Wednesday and Pugsley, keep trying to get rid of him, so their parents hire a nanny, Debbie Jellinsky. Debbie has married wealthy men and murdered them for their money. She turns her attention to Uncle Fester, who falls for her. To protect her secret, she arranges for Wednesday and Pugsley to be sent to Camp Chippewa, run by Gary Granger and Becky Martin-Granger. There, the two are shunned by other campers, while a bookish boy, Joel Glicker, is drawn to Wednesday.

- The "family values" of the title was writer Paul Rudnick's joke at the expense of then-Vice President Dan Quayle, who in a 1992 speech had blamed the Los Angeles riots of that year on a breakdown of family values.
- Anjelica Huston said it became steadily clearer during the shoot that Raul Julia, her Gomez, was seriously unwell: he had trouble eating and was losing weight. He died on 24 October 1994, less than a year after the film reached cinemas.
- Michael Jackson recorded a song for the film called "Family Thing" and it was nearly finished when it was dropped. The removal is usually blamed on the child sexual abuse allegations against him, but it was actually a contractual disagreement with Paramount Pictures; an early version leaked online in 2023.
