Biography
Andie MacDowell is an American actress who began as a fashion model and became known for romantic comedies and dramas. Born in Gaffney, South Carolina, she signed with Elite Model Management in 1978 and drew attention through Calvin Klein commercials, leading to her film debut in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984). After St. Elmo's Fire (1985), she broke through as Ann in Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), winning an Independent Spirit Award and a Golden Globe nomination. She then starred in Green Card (1990), Groundhog Day (1993), Short Cuts (1993), Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Multiplicity (1996), Michael (1996) and The Muse (1999). Later supporting parts included Beauty Shop (2005), Footloose (2011), The Last Laugh (2019), Ready or Not (2019), The Other Zoey (2023) and Red Right Hand (2024). She was nominated for a Golden Globe for the miniseries Maid (2021) and began starring in The Way Home in 2023.

In 1998, MacDowell made her producing debut with Just the Ticket, a return to the romantic comedy genre, and she also appeared in the independent drama Shadrach that same year.
