Plot summary
Luke Abbate, fifteen years old, is a well known athlete at his high school, playing lacrosse and football. In February 2006, after lacrosse practice, a crash caused by a reckless teenage driver takes his life. His older brother Jon plays for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, a team that has struggled, and he is determined that its coming season will be a success under Coach Jim Grobe. Steven and Maryanne Abbate, the brothers' parents, set up a foundation in Luke's honor, which gives scholarships to students at Luke's high school and helps families facing the troubles that reckless teenage driving brings.
