Biography

American actress and film producer Anessa Ramsey began acting at 17 and became known for leading roles in independent film. Born in the United States in 1978, she took her first starring part in The Signal (2007), working with Justin Welborn and A. J. Bowen after the group had collaborated with Atlanta-based directors David Bruckner, Jacob Gentry, and Dan Bush. She next starred in YellowBrickRoad (2010), cast by Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton because they admired The Signal, and she also had the chance to co-produce it. In Rites of Spring (2012) she played a flawed heroine and performed her own stunts. Dread Central's Heather Wixson considered her among the finest actresses in independent film, while Variety's John Anderson praised her work in Rites of Spring. Later screen credits include a small role in Devil's Knot in 2013, the horror anthology Southbound (2015), and Roger Corman's Death Race 2050 (2017), where she played Tammy the Terrorist.
