At Home in Mitford (2017) on Netflix

Plot summary

Cynthia Coppersmith writes and illustrates children's books, and she has not worked since her marriage ended a year ago. Her editor James gives her forty-five days for the next manuscript in her series about her cat Violet. She takes Violet to Mitford, the small town where she spent childhood summers with her late uncle, and stays in his closed cottage, which she intends to prepare for sale. The townspeople know who she is, since her uncle spoke about her constantly. Her next door neighbor is Tim Kavanaugh, the Episcopal minister and, by local opinion, the town's most eligible bachelor. Tim has agreed to look after Dooley, a ten-year-old boy who has grown withdrawn while his military parents are away and whose grandfather Russell Jacks is his guardian. A large stray dog has taken up with Tim.
