Plot summary

Win Garano, an Apache nicknamed Geronimo, works in the Boston district attorney's office for Monique Lamont. Lamont is running for governor of Massachusetts on an at risk platform, arguing that crime threatens everyone but that criminals will be the ones in danger once she is elected. To prove to voters that she can clear old crimes too, she reopens a decades-old murder case and puts Garano on it. A criminal named Jesus Baptista, acquitted not long before of drug dealing and arson, lies in wait at Lamont's house. While visiting his grandmother Nana, Garano sees Lamont confirm on television that the investigator is called Geronimo, and he texts her his resignation. He then gets a message warning that Nana will be killed unless he quits the case, so he calls Lamont to say he will stay on it.
