Biography

Temuera Morrison is a New Zealand actor whose early screen work included the 1973 film Rangi's Catch and drama training under the New Zealand Special Performing Arts Training Scheme. Born in Rotorua, he became a familiar face as Dr. Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street, then attracted international attention for his performance as Jake Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994), winning the best male dramatic performance honor at that year's New Zealand Film and Television Awards, and its sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted? (1999). He entered the Star Wars franchise as Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones (2002), voicing the clone troopers, and later appeared as clones in Revenge of the Sith (2005); he went on to play Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. His other film roles include Green Lantern (2011) and Aquaman (2018), and he voiced Chief Tui in Moana (2016).
