Biography

Jason Momoa is an American actor and producer who first appeared on screen in the syndicated action series Baywatch: Hawaii, playing Jason Ioane from 1999 to 2001. Born in Honolulu, he later played Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis from 2005 to 2009 and became widely known for his portrayal of Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. He led the historical drama Frontier between 2016 and 2018 and went on to star in See and Chief of War, the latter of which he co-created. In DC Comics adaptations he played Aquaman, beginning with a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and continuing through Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). His other films include Conan the Barbarian (2011), Dune (2021) as Duncan Idaho, Fast X (2023), A Minecraft Movie (2025) and Supergirl (2026) as Lobo. He also directed and helped write Road to Paloma (2014), and he is a hobby musician.
