Plot summary
Mike Blueberry serves as the marshal of a town in the Arizona territory of the 1870s, keeping the peace between the white settlers and the Apache, the people who once took him in and cared for him. He had come west from Louisiana as a young gentleman, sent to live with an uncle, and an early violent meeting with the outlaw Wallace Sebastian Blount stayed with him. News of gold in the range the Apache hold sacred draws prospectors, gunmen and Blount himself into the territory, and a German fortune seeker named Prosit is hunting the same wealth in the Superstition Mountains.
