Steven Mackintosh
Biography
Steven Mackintosh is an English actor who works as a narrator and was born in Cambridge. He began performing on stage as a teenager, making his debut at 14 in The Number of the Beast before taking the lead in a National Theatre production of Brighton Beach Memoirs. His first film was Prick Up Your Ears, and he later appeared in Memphis Belle (1990), Twelfth Night (1996), Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), and The Land Girls (1998). He is known for playing Andreas Tanis in Underworld: Evolution (2006) and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009). Other film credits include The Mother (2003), The Jacket (2005), Good (2008), The Escapist (2008), The Sweeney (2012), Set Fire to the Stars (2014), and Urban Hymn (2015). On television he earned a BAFTA nomination and a Royal Television Society Best Actor award for Care (2000), and he appeared in Luther (2010). He narrates documentaries such as Traffic Cops and Aircrash Confidential.
