Plot summary
The 2011 England riots form the backdrop to the story of Jamie Harrison, a neglected and volatile young offender with an amazing singing voice. Kate Linton, an unconventional care worker, meets her and urges her to use that voice. Leanne Dixon, Jamie's best friend, is possessive and volatile and wants Jamie's loyalty as well, which leaves Jamie torn between the pair of them.
