Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Big Bounce (2004)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- On the first day of pre-production, director George Armitage was hit in the eye by a piece of lava rock and caught a virus; an infection two weeks before the end of shooting put him in hospital, shut down production and became an unplanned Christmas break.
- The Big Bounce's original cut was rated NC-17, and producer Steve Bing, advised by money people that a PG-13 gave a better chance of recouping costs, decided to re-edit it instead of the R rating director George Armitage preferred.
- Producer Steve Bing put up his own money for The Big Bounce and, by director George Armitage's estimate, ran up $250,000 in bar bills buying drinks for the crew and cast during the Hawaii shoot.
- George Armitage left The Big Bounce after his second cut; when people ask to see his last movie he shows them his own cut rather than the released version, believing it could have been a far, far better film.
