Plot summary
Kat Valdez is one half of a celebrity music couple with Bastian, and their hit single "Marry Me" is climbing the charts as they prepare to wed on stage in a ceremony streamed to fans. Charlie Gilbert, a divorced high school math teacher, is at the concert with his daughter Lou and his friend Parker Debbs. Seconds before the vows, Kat learns that Bastian has been unfaithful with her assistant, and she melts down on stage. Spotting Charlie in the crowd holding a sign that reads "Marry Me", she decides to marry him instead. Charlie goes along with it, and the two strangers are awkward and polite with each other. The next day, with the media in a frenzy over her state of mind, Kat proposes that she and Charlie stay married a few months.
