Biography

Luke Evans is a Welsh actor and singer who started out in London theater, with West End credits including Taboo, Rent, Miss Saigon and Piaf. Born in Pontypool and raised in Aberbargoed, he broke through in the 2010 film Clash of the Titans. He went on to action and thriller roles in Immortals (2011), The Three Musketeers (2011) and The Raven (2012), and he played Owen Shaw in Fast & Furious 6 (2013) and Bard the Bowman in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). His later films include Dracula Untold (2014), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) and Pinocchio (2022). He appeared in the television series The Alienist and Nine Perfect Strangers, released the album At Last in 2019, and earned a Tony Award nomination for a 2026 Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show.

    Evans replaced Jeremy Renner in the 2012 film The Raven, taking the role opposite John Cusack as Detective Emmett Fields.
