Plot summary
In 1945, William Moulton Marston answers representatives of the Child Study Association of America about the heroine he created. His story opens in 1928, when he and his wife Elizabeth teach and research at Harvard and Radcliffe. They take on student Olive Byrne, the daughter of the suffragist Ethel Byrne and the niece of Margaret Sanger, to help with their work on a lie detector and on William's DISC theory of human interaction. The three grow close, and the lie detector, turned on themselves, reports what none of them has yet put into words. William, Elizabeth and Olive begin a polyamorous relationship that will shape the superheroine he later creates.
