Biography

Born in Greenwich, London, in 1978, Dominic Cooper is an English actor who trained at LAMDA, graduating in 2000, and worked first in television and film before his stage debut at the National Theatre in 2001. He originated the role of Dakin in Alan Bennett's The History Boys, for which he received acclaim, and carried the part to the West End, Broadway, and the film adaptation. He played Sky in Mamma Mia! (2008) and returned for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018), and he appeared opposite Keira Knightley in The Duchess (2008). Cooper entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and later reprised the role in the Agent Carter television series. He starred as Jesse Custer on AMC's Preacher from 2016 to 2019 and took roles in An Education (2009), My Week with Marilyn (2011), and Warcraft (2016).
