Biography

Orlando Bloom is an English actor who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and made his screen debut in Wilde (1997). Two days after graduating he was cast as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and he returned to the role in The Hobbit films. The part brought him notice in fantasy and adventure movies, among them Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Troy (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and The Three Musketeers (2011). The Lord of the Rings cast won a Screen Actors Guild ensemble award for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). He also appeared in Elizabethtown (2005), The Outpost (2020) and Gran Turismo (2023), starred in the series Carnival Row, and made his stage debut in In Celebration in London in 2007, later playing Romeo on Broadway.
