Biography
Matt Dillon is an American actor who first drew notice as a teenager, making his feature debut in Over the Edge (1979). Born in New Rochelle and raised in Mamaroneck, New York, he became a teen idol through films such as My Bodyguard (1980), Little Darlings (1980), Tex (1982), Rumble Fish (1983) and The Outsiders (1983), then critics praised his performance as a drug addict in Drugstore Cowboy (1989). He went on to star in Singles (1992), To Die For (1995), Beautiful Girls (1996), In & Out (1997), There's Something About Mary (1998) and Wild Things (1998). Crash (2005) brought him an Independent Spirit Award and Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor. He wrote and directed City of Ghosts (2002), starred in Factotum (2005), The House That Jack Built (2018) and Asteroid City (2023), and led the first season of Wayward Pines (2015).
