Plot summary
On Thanksgiving 1945, Alphonse Capone is at his Florida home with his wife Mae, released from prison as the effects of neurosyphilis and a stroke take their toll. His health keeps failing in body and mind, and thoughts of an illegitimate son who rarely calls trouble him. Federal investigators watch the family constantly, and Mae sells luxury items from the estate to pay its expenses. Capone's physician, Doctor Karlock, advises her to keep his surroundings familiar.
