Tom Hardy
Biography
Tom Hardy is an English actor who trained at the Drama Centre London and entered film with Black Hawk Down (2001) after appearing in the miniseries Band of Brothers. Early attention came from Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and RocknRolla (2008), and critics praised his work in Bronson (2008), Warrior (2011) and Locke (2014). He became an international star in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road and Legend, playing both Kray twins, and received an Academy Award nomination for The Revenant. He worked repeatedly with Christopher Nolan, appearing in Dunkirk (2017), Inception (2010) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and played Eddie Brock in the Venom films, including Venom (2018) and Venom: The Last Dance (2024). His television work includes Peaky Blinders and the series Taboo, which he created and co-produced, and he was nominated for an Olivier Award for In Arabia We'd All Be Kings.

Early training
Hardy was taken out of Drama Centre London early after he won the part of Private John Janovec in the HBO-BBC miniseries Band of Brothers.
A role that slipped away
In the 2011 movie version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Hardy took over the part that had been Michael Fassbender's. The film had its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
About the name
Under the hip-hop alias Frankie Pulitzer, Hardy puts out music. In 2016 he started working with the hip-hop duo Czarface and appeared on their album Good Guys, Bad Guys.
Getting ready for a role
Hardy took the lead role in the 2008 film Bronson, which tells the story of Charles Bronson, an English prisoner held in solitary confinement for much of his adult life. Hardy gained three stone, or 42 pounds, for the part.
A change of course
Hardy was 21 when he won The Big Breakfast's Find Me a Supermodel competition in 1998, which brought him a short contract with Models 1.
