Bob Saginowski tends bar at Cousin Marv's in Brooklyn, a place the Chechen mob keeps for its illegal collections. Walking home, he spots an injured pit bull left in a trash can beside Nadia's house, and together they treat the dog's wounds. Nadia tells him that if nobody claims a pit bull, the shelter will put it down, so he takes the animal home and calls him Rocco. Two masked men then rob the bar. Bob tells Detective Torres that a robber's watch was broken, which upsets Marv, since the Chechens will be angry. Chovka, a mobster, wants the missing cash recovered and tells Marv to find it.
