Plot summary

Keith Ripley is a veteran art thief working in New York, and Lieutenant Weber has spent twenty years trying to put him in jail. Ripley's last partner, Victor Korolenko, was killed by the Russian mafia before they finished a job, and Ripley now owes money to the mobster Nicky. To settle the debt he recruits Gabriel Martin, a bold young thief from Miami, for one more score: two Fabergé eggs worth twenty million dollars each on the black market. Martin is wary of Ripley, but Ripley's goddaughter Alexandra Korolenko, Victor's daughter, talks him into it. The plan takes them to a Russian museum that smuggles treasures into the country and keeps the police friendly with donations, where they pose as police officers to gather information about the vault.
