Plot summary
XXXX runs cocaine distribution in London as a business rather than as gangsterism, and he plans to retire while he is still young. His partner and enforcer is Morty, and Gene, an Irish gangster, is his liaison to mob boss Jimmy Price. As XXXX prepares to step away, Jimmy gives him two tasks: track down Charlie, the drug-addicted daughter of one of Price's associates, who has run away from a rehab center, and oversee the purchase of a million ecstasy tablets from Duke, a low-level criminal newly back from Amsterdam with his girlfriend Slasher and a crew of thugs. XXXX meets Duke's nephew Sidney and is drawn to Tammy. Liverpool gangsters Trevor and Shanks turn the pills down and tell him where the consignment came from and that the Serbians have sent an assassin after it.
