Carmen, a young Spanish woman, is engaged to Barnaby, a caring and wealthy Englishman. For her hen night she goes to a French restaurant in London, where she is invited to take part in an old custom that lets her kiss a stranger before the marriage, a farewell to her single life that brings luck for the future. She chooses Kit, a Brazilian actor, and the kiss gives them both far more than they intended. They fall in love, and a love triangle forms among Carmen, Barnaby and Kit.
