  1. A first

Pyle was set to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on September 29, 2008, to promote Boeing-Boeing, but she withdrew minutes before the close, not wanting to be linked to a calamitous trading day when the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 778 points.

  2. Beyond film

Pyle was in a country music group called Smith & Pyle with actress Shawnee Smith. Smith asked Pyle to go with her to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and while they were stuck in traffic Pyle shared her wish to be a rock star, so Smith agreed to start a band.

  3. Behind the camera

Pyle and Smith became business partners and started their own label, Urban Prairie Records, which put out their first album, It's OK to Be Happy, released digitally in July 2008.
