Rick Overton
Biography
Rick Overton is an American actor and screenwriter who first appeared on screen in 1981 performing stand-up for an HBO young comedians special. Born in Forest Hills, Queens, and raised in Englewood, New Jersey, he made his movie debut in Young Doctors in Love (1982) and later had a small part in Airplane II: The Sequel. His film roles include Gung Ho (1986), Million Dollar Mystery (1987), Willow (1988), The Rocketeer (1991), Eight Legged Freaks (2002), and Northfork (2003). He scripted an installment of The New Adventures of Beans Baxter in 1987, appeared in the Fox sketch series The Edge in 1992, and later had roles in Seinfeld and Mrs. Doubtfire. Overton won an Emmy for his writing on Dennis Miller Live and received a Writers Guild of America nomination for that series. He also appeared in Alias, Joan of Arcadia, and A Fork in the Road (2009).
