Plot summary
Deidra is the older sister, Laney the younger, and they live with their little brother Jet and their mother Marigold. When Marigold is taken to jail, the sisters are left to support themselves. Deidra wants to keep Laney and Jet out of foster care, and her plan is to rob trains with Laney. The money would cover Marigold's bills and the bail that would bring her home. The sisters rekindle old relationships with family and friends. Truman is a Pacific Western detective, McMillan is a local police officer, and Gloria works for child social services. Chet is the girls' father.

- The film's prison scenes and its school scenes were shot in the same building, Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Utah, during shooting that began in July 2016. The railroad scenes were filmed at the Heber Valley Railroad in Heber City.
