Plot summary

Ted Morgan manages a pet store and has spent most of his life drifting. When his wife Penny leaves him, he decides to end his life, but first he wants to tie up loose ends. Ted moves into the household of his brother Lucky and his family and seeks out the people he holds responsible for the man he has become, among them his seventh-grade teacher, who mistreated him and now has dementia and lives in a care home. At the home he meets her granddaughter Greta and tells her his plan; she wants to record the time he has left. He also looks up a childhood bully.
