Biography

Corey Burton is an American voice actor whose work spans Disney animation, Transformers, Star Wars, and DC projects. Born in Granada Hills in 1955, he started voice acting at seventeen under the name Corey Weinman. He trained for four years in radio acting with Daws Butler. For Disney, he has voiced Captain Hook since 1977, as well as Dale, Ludwig Von Drake, the Mad Hatter, and Yen Sid. His Transformers parts include Shockwave in the original animated series and Megatron in Transformers: Animated. For Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), his characters were Ziro the Hutt, Count Dooku, and Cad Bane. He portrayed Brainiac in various DC animated shows and played Solomon Grundy and Captain Marvel in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009). His game credits include Zeus across the God of War games, Hugo Strange in Batman: Arkham City, plus Nitros Oxide in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. He also narrated a Discovery Channel documentary and worked on theme park attractions.
