Plot summary
Channel 8 WIDB-TV is showing the 1950s science-fiction film Amazon Women on the Moon in its late-night slot, but the station runs into trouble with the broadcast. While the movie stops and starts, an unseen viewer channel surfs, and the gaps fill with the programming that turns up on other channels. A man has a run of mishaps around his apartment. Taryn Steele goes about her day in Laguna Beach without any clothes and draws no notice. Murray is zapped into the television, wanders through other films and calls out to his wife Selma. Brenda Landers and her husband deal with a doctor who has lost their baby. Clips of Queen Lara and Captain Nelson on the Moon keep returning between these interruptions.

- The film was shot in 1985 for an August 1986 release, but Universal repeatedly pushed the date back and issued a gag order on publicity because of the legal fallout from director John Landis's involvement in the Twilight Zone accident, while the trial was ongoing.
- The title refers to the central film-within-a-film, a 1950s science-fiction spoof that borrows heavily from Queen of Outer Space (1958) starring Zsa Zsa Gabor, itself a film recycling Cat-Women of the Moon, Fire Maidens from Outer Space and Forbidden Planet.
- An alternative version of the "Pethouse Video" sketch was filmed for television with Taryn in lingerie rather than naked throughout, and Bullshit or Not? was retitled Baloney or Not?, though most European broadcasts kept the theatrical version.
