Plot summary
Roger Rabbit has watched Baby Herman before, and now Mrs. Herman is away for an hour with the baby in his care. The moment she is out the door the baby starts a crying fit that Roger cannot quiet, and every trick he tries fails. What finally holds Herman's attention is a rattle with a shiny surface. Herman shakes it for a second or two, then swallows it. Roger panics, calls 911, and carries the baby to the emergency room. At the hospital Roger feels the weight of what happened, and the baby lies in his room calling for a milk bottle.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Tummy Trouble (1989)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Steven Spielberg wanted Roller Coaster Rabbit to play with Arachnophobia, the first Hollywood Pictures feature, but Disney CEO Michael Eisner instead attached it to Dick Tracy to raise that film's profile. Spielberg, who held a 50% ownership stake in Roger Rabbit, canceled Hare in My Soup, the third short, which had entered production.
- Tummy Trouble took nine months and 70 Disney animators to make, and was the first animated short Disney had produced in 16 years to accompany a feature film's original release, since Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too in 1974.
- Jeffrey Katzenberg wanted the scene with Jessica Rabbit cut from Trail Mix-Up, but director Cook persuaded him to keep it and warned animators not to show the buttons on her uniform, in case they were mistaken for nipples.
- A gag cut from Roller Coaster Rabbit would have stopped Roger and Baby Herman at a traffic light atop the coaster's lift hill while a Long Car of Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the front car, Monstro and Chernabog, raced past. It was cut because the characters would not read at speed, and slowing the car would lose the momentum.
SPOILER
The destruction of Mount Rushmore in Trail Mix-Up was achieved by blowing up a large sculpted miniature, built by Bob Spurlock and his crew from Stetson Visual Services at Golden Oak Ranch.- In Roller Coaster Rabbit, computer animation was used for the roller coaster tracks, the coaster cars and the darts.
