Castle in the Sky (1986) on Netflix

Plot summary

In a mining town in a nineteenth-century world, Pazu is apprenticed to the engineer who maintains the mine's elevator machinery. He is carrying his boss's dinner to the mine when a girl drifts out of the sky into his arms, unconscious, her hair in pigtails. Her name is Sheeta, and the pendant she wears is a levitation stone, the key to Laputa, a legendary castle on a flying island. A government agent had abducted Sheeta, and Dola and her air pirates attacked the airship to seize the crystal. Pazu's father once photographed Laputa, and Pazu hopes to find it. When the pirates and the army come searching the town, Pazu and Sheeta flee.
