Rupert Everett
Biography
Rupert Everett is an English actor whose breakthrough came in 1981 with Julian Mitchell's play Another Country, where he played a gay schoolboy at a 1930s English public school; he later took the same part in the 1984 film version, earning his first BAFTA nomination. He trained as an actor in London after leaving school at 16. His career revived with My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), which brought a second BAFTA nomination and a Golden Globe nomination, while An Ideal Husband (1999) earned another Golden Globe nomination. He voiced Prince Charming in Shrek 2 (2004). He returned to the role for Shrek the Third (2007). He also played John Lamont, also known as Mr. Barron, in the 2016 film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. On stage he played Oscar Wilde in The Judas Kiss, winning a WhatsOnStage Award and receiving an Olivier nomination. He wrote and directed The Happy Prince (2018).

Everett made his film debut in A Shocking Accident, a 1982 short directed by James Scott. The Academy Award-winning film was based on a story by Graham Greene.

Everett was set to play Elyot opposite Asia Argento's Amanda in Private Lives, a Coward play done in Italian, touring Italian cities in the 2008-09 winter season, but the production was canceled.
