Plot summary
St. Trinian's is a girls' school with a terrible reputation, and Annabelle Fritton does not want to be there. Her father, Carnaby, has moved her out of Cheltenham Ladies' College, and her aunt Camilla is the headmistress. The pupils split into cliques and do business with Flash Harry, a shady character who pays them for the vodka they make. Geoffrey Thwaites, the new Minister of Education, intends to make an example of the school, and his daughter Verity, who bullied Annabelle at Cheltenham, arrives with the visiting hockey team. Then a banker serves a foreclosure notice over a debt of more than £500,000, and the girls, who had felt no attachment to the school, decide they want to keep it.

- The 2007 reboot kept a tradition from the 1954 original: casting a man as headmistress Camilla Fritton, just as Alastair Sim played the role in the first film, with Rupert Everett taking over the part.
- All five members of pop group Girls Aloud (Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Cheryl Cole) cameo as the school's band, while director Oliver Parker's real-life brother Nathaniel Parker briefly appears as the chairman of the National Gallery.
- Made on a production budget of around £7 million, the film went on to gross over £12 million in the United Kingdom alone, and $29 million worldwide by mid-2010.
- A sequel, The Legend of Fritton's Gold, was announced at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, and actors David Tennant, Sarah Harding and Montserrat Lombard had all signed on to appear by the time filming began in July 2009.
