Warwick Davis
Biography
Warwick Davis is an English actor and television presenter whose career began at eleven, with a part in Return of the Jedi. He became Wicket the Ewok in the Star Wars films. He went on to lead Willow (1988), written with him in mind, and to play the title role in the Leprechaun movies from 1993 to 2003. In the Harry Potter series he appeared as the teacher Filius Flitwick and as the goblin Griphook. His other films include The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), where he supplied the physical presence of Marvin the Paranoid Android, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), as the dwarf Nikabrik. The sitcom Life's Too Short put him on screen as a made-up version of himself, and he presented game shows for ITV, among them Celebrity Squares and Tenable. He received a BAFTA Fellowship in 2025 and was appointed an OBE in the 2026 New Year Honours.

Getting ready for a role
For his Ewok movements, Davis took inspiration from his own dog, which would tilt its head from side to side whenever something strange caught its eye.

Willow was written with Davis specifically in mind, and it gave him his first chance to act with his face visible.
Behind the camera
Davis helped start the Reduced Height Theatre Company, which puts on plays with short actors and reduced height sets. In 2014 the company toured the UK with its first production, See How They Run.

Davis produced Eugenius!, a new musical written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins. It first appeared as a concert at the London Palladium in 2016, where Davis also played Evil Lord Hector.
