Plot summary
Thirteen hundred years have passed in Narnia since the Pevensie siblings left it. Caspian, a Telmarine prince, is woken by his mentor, Doctor Cornelius, who warns that his aunt has borne a son and that his uncle, King Miraz, has reason to want him dead. Cornelius entrusts him with Queen Susan's ancient horn, which is to be blown in dire need. Soldiers chase him; he falls from his horse, and two dwarfs, Nikabrik and Trumpkin, and a talking badger, Trufflehunter, find him. Trumpkin is captured after giving himself up for the prince, and Caspian, not knowing who means to help him, sounds the horn. In England, a year has passed; the four Pevensies are waiting at a tube station when the platform breaks apart, and they arrive in a Narnia where their castle, Cair Paravel, lies in ruins.
