Plot summary
Five years after King Stefan's death, Aurora reigns as queen of the Moors while Maleficent guards the fairy realm. Aurora accepts a marriage proposal from Prince Philip of Ulstead, a kingdom that still calls Maleficent a villain. Diaval, Maleficent's raven, overhears the proposal and carries the news to her; she is wary of the match, and Aurora promises to change her mind. Maleficent agrees to behave at a dinner with Philip's parents, King John and Queen Ingrith. Ingrith sets out iron silverware, brings up the old curse and Stefan's death, and tells Aurora she will have a real mother once she is married. Maleficent loses her temper, John collapses, and Ingrith blames her; Aurora stays, and Maleficent flies away.
