Plot summary
The Ewok Deej is searching for his sons when he finds a young girl, Cindel, alone inside a wrecked shuttlecraft; her brother Mace then appears holding an emergency blaster. The Ewoks subdue Mace and take the children to their village, where Cindel befriends Wicket. After the Ewoks kill a boar wolf, the creature's body yields a life-monitor belonging to one of the missing parents, and Logray tells them the parents are held by the monstrous Gorax, who dwells in a deserted and dangerous region. A caravan of Ewoks sets out with Mace and Cindel to reunite them with their parents, joined along the way by the woodsman Chukha-Trok, the priestess Kaink and the wistie Izrina.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Ewok Adventure (1984)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The Ewok movies gave ILM a chance to use latent image matte painting, a technique innovated for 2001: A Space Odyssey. A section of the camera lens is blocked off during live-action photography, the film is rewound, the blocked areas reversed, and a painting is photographed into the space.
- The two lead teenage actors, Eric Walker and Warwick Davis, both 15 at the time of production, were given their own cameras to use between takes. Calling themselves W&W Productions, they recorded a mini-documentary that reached Walker's YouTube channel nearly 30 years later, in 2014.
- George Lucas had allowed the Star Wars universe to be produced for television in 1978 with the Star Wars Holiday Special, which proved to be an embarrassment, so he assumed greater control over the planned half-hour television project about Ewoks.
- Lucas hired Thomas G. Smith, formerly the manager of Industrial Light & Magic, to produce. When Smith shopped the film around, none of the TV networks wanted a half-hour special, but ABC showed interest in a two-hour movie of the week, so the project was expanded to fill the request.
- Disney announced no plans to add the Ewok films to its streaming service, Disney+, which prompted Eric Walker to start a petition; in March 2021 it was announced that both films would begin streaming on April 2, 2021.
- Go motion was too expensive for the budgets of the Ewok films, so old-fashioned stop motion was used to realize creatures such as the Gorax.
- The Ewok Adventure was one of four films to be juried-awarded Emmys for Outstanding Special Visual Effects at the 37th Primetime Emmy Awards.
