Plot summary

Peng is a carefree swan goose flying with a flock across China, and his attitude has the leader, Bing, fed up. Chi and Chao are ducklings headed for a place called Pleasant Valley, and a careless stunt by Peng separates them from their own flock. To hide from Banzou, a Pallas's cat, the two ducklings settle down to sleep beside Peng after watching him drive the cat off. Startled to find them there, Peng flies off in a rush and breaks his wing on a gong. Unable to fly, he decides the ducklings can help him keep predators away while he makes his way back to his flock, and they reluctantly agree to travel with him.
