Plot summary

Billie Eilish became a name as a teenager with the 2016 single Ocean Eyes, and cameras stay with her in the years that follow. At home she writes and records with her brother Finneas, and songs for the debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? take shape in her bedroom. The footage moves between those sessions and the road, where tour dates and a festival set bring crowds of fans she thinks of as part of her rather than an audience. Her family stays close as she earns her learner's permit and meets other musicians backstage at Coachella. With her friend Bella she works out an idea for a music video.
