Plot summary

Carl Ridley is a corrupt businessman on the run from federal prosecution. He brings his eighteen-year-old daughter Pippa from Miami to the Cayman Islands. Ridley is preoccupied: banks are closing, and he still has to find somewhere to put his stolen money. Pippa misses her old life. In their new home she discovers Fritz, a native Caymanian, asleep in her bed after a late night out; he jumps out the window and leaves his wallet behind. She returns it to him on the beach and befriends him, despite his come-on attempts. Fritz wants to show her the island and its parties, but he owes money to an island gang leader named Richie Ritch. In another storyline, Shy, a Cayman native, loves Andrea, the daughter of his employer Mr. Sterling. Andrea's brother Hammer hates Shy, so their affair stays secret.
