Jonathan Banks
Biography
Jonathan Banks is an American actor who grew up in Chillum, Maryland and started out in theater, joining a touring company of Hair before moving to Los Angeles in 1974. Early television work included the gangster Dutch Schultz on The Gangster Chronicles, and he broke through as Frank McPike in Wiseguy, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination. He became widely recognized as the fixer Mike Ehrmantraut in Breaking Bad and reprised that part as a lead in Better Call Saul, work that brought his total of Emmy nominations for supporting actor in a drama to six. Among his films are Airplane! (1980) and Beverly Hills Cop (1984), the antagonist role in Mudbound, a cameo in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and The Commuter. He also voiced Commissioner Jim Gordon in Batman: Arkham Knight and Brit in Invincible.

Banks began his theater career without finishing a degree at Indiana University. He worked as a stage manager for a touring production of Hair that went to Australia and New Zealand.

Nolan North, a voice actor, stated that Jonathan Banks was initially in line for Zoran Lazaravić in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009), but Graham McTavish ultimately took the part.
