Biography

Jennifer Connelly is an American actress who started as a child model and made her screen debut in the crime drama Once Upon a Time in America (1984). Early roles followed in Phenomena (1985), Labyrinth (1986), The Hot Spot (1990), Career Opportunities (1991), and The Rocketeer (1991). She drew praise for her performances in Dark City (1998) and as a drug addict in Requiem for a Dream (2000). Her portrayal of Alicia Nash in A Beautiful Mind (2001) won her the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress. Later films include Hulk (2003), House of Sand and Fog (2003), Dark Water (2005), Little Children (2006), Blood Diamond (2006), The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008), and He's Just Not That Into You (2009). She also appeared in Noah (2014), Alita: Battle Angel (2019), and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). On television, she starred in Snowpiercer from 2020 to 2024 and in Dark Matter in 2024.
