Glen Powell
Biography
Glen Powell is an American actor, screenwriter and producer who started out with minor parts on television and in films, among them Fast Food Nation (2006) and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003). A role in The Great Debaters (2007), directed by Denzel Washington, helped point him toward Los Angeles, and he added credits in The Expendables 3 (2014), the series Scream Queens, Everybody Wants Some!! (2016) and Hidden Figures (2016), where he played astronaut John Glenn. Top Gun: Maverick (2022) turned him into a widely known star, as did the romance Anyone but You (2023) the following year. He appeared in Devotion (2022) and Twisters (2024). He co-wrote, produced and led Hit Man (2023), which brought a Golden Globe nomination, and he co-created and starred in the series Chad Powers (2025), earning another. Later came The Running Man (2025), and in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026) he provided the voice of Fox McCloud.

Powell initially auditioned for the role of Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw in Top Gun: Maverick, but the part went to Miles Teller; producers were so impressed they offered him Jake "Hangman" Seresin instead.

Big break
In 2007, Powell got a part in The Great Debaters before starting college. Denzel Washington, who directed and starred in the film, then introduced Powell to agent Ed Limato, who encouraged him to move to Los Angeles.
Behind the camera
Powell announced Barnstorm, his production company, in January 2025. It has a first-look film deal at Universal Pictures, and Dan Cohen serves as his producing partner.
