Biography

Kirsten Dunst is an American actress and singer who began as a child model. Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, she first gained recognition as the child vampire Claudia in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994), a role that brought her a Golden Globe nomination. In 1999 she took leading parts in Dick, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and The Virgin Suicides, the first of several films with Sofia Coppola. After Bring It On (2000), she became widely known as Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man trilogy. She appeared in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and Marie Antoinette (2006), and won the Best Actress Award at Cannes for Melancholia (2011). On television, Fargo earned her an Emmy nomination. Later work includes a supporting role in Hidden Figures (2016), a leading role in The Beguiled (2017), and The Power of the Dog (2021), which brought her first Academy Award nomination. She starred in Civil War (2024).
