Plot summary
Berke Landers, a high school senior and basketball player, is dumped by his girlfriend Allison McAllister. He wants her back, and against his friends' advice he auditions for the school's spring musical, a modern retelling of A Midsummer Night's Dream called A Midsummer Night's Rockin' Eve, staged by the drama teacher Dr. Desmond Oates. Berke has no theatrical talent, so Kelly, the younger sister of his best friend Felix, coaches him through the audition and he lands a minor part. Felix and his friend Dennis, meanwhile, keep trying to fix Berke up with someone new. Kelly is in love with Berke, who does not see it.
