Plot summary
In Salt Lake City, Alex Corvis is charged with the killing of his girlfriend, Lauren Randall, who is found with 53 stab wounds. Three years later, at 21, he is put to death in the electric chair, after lightning overloads the current. The Crow brings him back in the prison morgue with supernatural abilities, and he leaves the prison. The bird leads him to the evidence room at the police department, where he learns that a group of corrupt officers were responsible for Lauren's death, and he believes one of the killers carried an unusual scar on his arm. At Lauren's grave he meets her sister Erin, who is certain he is guilty. Alex promises her he will prove his innocence.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Crow: Salvation (2000)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Rob Zombie quit the planned Crow film over his growing frustration with its producers, citing their lack of vision. When I Know What You Did Last Summer proved successful at the box office, they wanted Zombie to scrap his work and pivot to a teen cast with Skeet Ulrich as the Crow.
- Steven E. de Souza's stalled action film Ballistic, which John Woo was in talks to direct with Oliver Stone producing, was reworked by producer Pressman and de Souza over two days in April 1997 into The Crow 3: Resurrection, featuring a brain dead mental-hospital patient revived by the crow.
- Eric Mabius, up for the lead role of Alex Corvis, had once auditioned to play Eric Draven in The Crow but was deemed too young, and also tried out for Michael Massee's role as Funboy, who fired the dummy cartridge that killed Brandon Lee.
- Makeup artists Howard Berger and Alex Diaz of KNB EFX suggested shaving Eric Mabius' head for the execution scene but the idea was discarded, and the studio vetoed gorier makeup for Kirsten Dunst's Erin Randall when her character's mouth is sewn shut.
