Edmund Cobb

Biography

Edmund Cobb was an American actor whose screen career ran from 1910 to 1965, starting in the silent era and continuing long after sound arrived. Born in 1892, he was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where his parents ran a photography studio. Kalton C. Lahue's 1970 book Winners of the West: Sagebrush Heroes of the Silent Screen gives a brief overview of the companies, directors, movies and serials, and the types of roles that shaped that long career. Several pages of the volume are devoted to his work. Among the pictures he appeared in were the westerns Riders of the Range (1923) and A Rodeo Mixup (1924). He died in 1974.
